PathBinder LLC ("PathBinder," "we," "us," or "our") operates the PathBinder website at pathbinder.gg and the PathBinder mobile and web applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
By using the Service you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Contact: PathBinder LLC, 471 Cleveland Crossing Dr Unit 101, Garner, NC 27529, USA — support@pathbinder.gg
1. Who this applies to / age
The Service is intended for users 18 years or older to buy or sell, and for users 13 or older to browse and maintain a collection with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact support@pathbinder.gg and we will delete it.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide:
- Account information — email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), username, and display name.
- Profile information — optional avatar, bio, shop name, shop description, and social links.
- Seller / shipping information — your return ("ship-from") address and phone number, used to create shipping labels.
- Buyer / shipping information — the shipping address, phone number, and email you provide at checkout, shared with the seller so they can ship your order.
- Collection and listing content — cards and products you add to your binder, listings you create, prices, photos you upload, and per-item metadata.
- Card and product images — photos you capture with the card/product scanner or upload to your collection or listings.
- Communications — messages you send to other users, seller ratings and reviews, support requests, and dispute or return information.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, features used, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, and device identifiers.
- Push notification token — if you enable notifications in the mobile app, a device push token issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), used to send you order, message, and wishlist alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Cookies and local storage — see Section 7.
Information from third parties:
- Payment data — when you pay or get paid, our payment processor provides us limited transaction information (e.g., status, amounts, the last four digits of a card, payout status). We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
- Catalog data — card metadata and market prices sourced from third-party data providers.
3. How we use information
We use information to: create and operate your account; display and manage your collection, listings, and orders; process marketplace transactions and subscriptions; generate shipping labels and send shipping notifications; provide buyer protection, refunds, and dispute handling; surface market prices, alerts, and analytics; communicate with you (transactional emails, support, and—where permitted—product updates); detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms; and comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information as follows:
- With other users, to complete transactions — when you buy, the seller receives your shipping details so they can ship your order; when you sell, the buyer sees your shop/profile information. Public profile fields, listings (including any card or product images you attach), ratings, and reviews are visible to other users. Images and content attached to public listings and profiles are stored and served from public URLs, which means they can be viewed by anyone who has the link, including people who are not signed in.
- With service providers ("processors") who operate the Service on our behalf, including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing and seller payouts (Stripe Connect). Your payment is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Shippo — shipping rates, label generation, and tracking.
- Google Cloud Vision — optical character recognition on card and product images you scan, to identify the item. Governed by Google's Cloud Privacy Notice.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and the Apple Push Notification service — deliver push notifications to your device; they receive a device push token to route notifications.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Discord — optional notifications via our community bot, if you choose to use it.
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of PathBinder, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
5. Payments
Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe. PathBinder operates on a non-custodial model (Stripe Connect destination charges): we do not hold buyer funds in escrow. We retain limited transaction metadata for accounting, fraud prevention, refunds, and tax compliance. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for the period required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Transaction records may be retained longer where law requires. You may request deletion as described in Section 9.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, operate core features, and understand usage. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings or any consent controls we provide; disabling cookies may limit functionality.
8. Your privacy rights
California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access and deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. You may exercise these rights by emailing support@pathbinder.gg. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Other U.S. states: Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and limit certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
To protect your account we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
9. Account deletion and data requests
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Settings within the app, or by emailing support@pathbinder.gg. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data from active systems, subject to information we must retain for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes (for example, completed transaction records).
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International users
The Service is operated from the United States and is currently directed to U.S. users. If you access it from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States.
For future EU/UK availability: When we offer the Service to users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, additional rights and disclosures under the GDPR/UK GDPR will apply, including legal bases for processing, data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection), international transfer safeguards, and the appointment of an EU/UK representative. [Placeholder: EU/UK representative and Data Protection Officer details to be added before serving EU/UK users.]
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
